Equipping the Saints
Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “ And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” This is a reference to the importance of those God calls for special service. There is one common goal of all those God places this call. They are called to equip the saints for ministry. God is not trying to distinguish between clergy and laity. God does not call some to sit in the pew and others to work. God calls some to be responsible to equip and everyone he calls to minister.
God has blessed Eastern Heights with godly men who have surrendered their lives to equip the saints. It is my privilege to sacrifice my preaching time on Sunday nights in order for us to hear what God has placed on these men’s hearts.
