Victory Through Small Sacrifices

What a great Easter Sunday! I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make it successful. Stephen and the choir worked extremely hard in a short amount of time. They did an amazing job. Thank you to everyone who parked a little farther away to accommodate visitors. We had just about every parking space filled. Moreover, we had two adults give their life to Christ. That is what it is all about. Everyone’s hard work made an eternal difference. The small sacrifices we made were worth it all.

The small sacrifices we make are nothing compared to the sacrifice Jesus made for us. Paul, after talking about all the things that made him a great Jewish leader, said “ But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” (Philippians 3:7-8). It is sad that so many times we let the inconvenience of corporate worship keep us from having the relationship that we long for with Christ. I pray that we continue to be a church that counts everything in this world as loss. Let us make every sacrifice necessary to increase our relationship with Jesus Christ. There is nothing greater than knowing Jesus Christ our Lord. When we make knowing him a priority, we will continue to see lives changed through our ministries here at Eastern Heights.
