A New Day!
It is a new day at Eastern Heights. Sunday was our first day to be fully staffed
in over a year. It is the first time to
have a separate youth pastor and worship leader in over four years.
As I worshipped on Sunday I could not help but have excitement for what
I am seeing. Our search team did a
phenomenal job wading through a difficult search to find two amazing young men
who fit our church so well. Their hearts
for God’s Word is unsurpassed. Their desire
to lead us to Jesus Christ will help all of us grow in our faith.
I have an important challenge for each of you. Pray for us and our families every day. Satan is a roaring lion who is seeking to
devour. If he can take down ministers he
can shake the faith of those they lead. It
can destroy the reputation of our church and sidetrack us from the mission
given to us by God.
During one of the most fruitful times in my ministry at
Wewoka it seemed like we were baptizing every week. I was feeling pretty good about myself and my
own abilities. During a day I set aside
to visit many of the 90 something year old widows in our church, God put me in
my place. Every one of those ladies
showed me their prayer journal and my name listed on their daily prayer
list. God showed me that day that the
success has little to do with my own abilities and everything to do with the
prayers of the saints. Pray for us and
watch God bless Eastern Heights. It is a
new day!
