New Director of Missions

I have had the great privilege of serving on the search team for our association for the next Director of Missions.  It has not been an easy task trying to replace a man as loved as Bro. Paul.  We have taken it slow knowing God would make it clear who he wanted to lead us.  I am excited to announce that we are voting on Monday to call Monty Hale as the new Director of Missions.  Monty was previously the pastor of Eastern Heights and has since served on the denominational level.  We believe that his experience in our association, his friendship with Bro. Paul (he was on search team that called him), as well as his experience in leading churches on a denominational level make him the perfect choice for us.  Please pray for him and his wife as they transition back to Bartlesville.  Below is a bio.

Bio:
Monty Hale is Director of Ministry Development for the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Prior to joining the SCBC staff in April 2005, Hale served as Leadership Development Specialist for the Missouri Baptist Convention.

His duties include assisting and training pastors and churches in transition; developing projects and initiatives to promote healthy leaders, and assisting churches with effective revitalization processes. Along with these present duties Hale has also served as State Director of Missions working with the 42 local DoMs in South Carolina. He has also worked with and trained Bivocational pastors both in Missouri and South Carolina. He has trained deacons, church secretaries, emerging leaders and other staff in leadership development.

Prior to being called into denomination work, Hale served as senior pastor of 4 churches in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma for 23 years. He served as pastor of Eastern Heights Baptist in Bartlesville from May of 1993 to March of 2001.
