Special Events Sunday

Sunday is going to be a special day at Eastern Heights.  During our morning worship time we will have the Lord’s Supper together as we remember the sacrifice Jesus paid for us on the cross.  The blood poured out for us as the final sacrifice for our sin.  His death was the culmination of hours of torture after years of attempted persecution and arrest by the Jewish religious leaders.  Following the Lord’s Supper, we will take time to remember the reality of Jesus’ statement, “if they persecuted me, they will also persecute you” (John 15:20).  We will have a time of prayer for the persecuted church.

Sunday evening will be a special time as we have our Thanksgiving Meal together as a church.  This is always a special time of fellowship and a time to kick off our World Missions Offering.  This year we will also welcome our guests from our 4:00 Engage Bartlesville worship service.  They will join us for the meal.  I want to encourage you, if you are able to get your food here early, come and join us in the Engage Bartlesville service.  Come experience it for yourself.  Invite someone to come with you as well.  Who wouldn’t set through a 45-minute service to get an amazing Thanksgiving meal?  Take advantage of this time.  It is guaranteed that they will hear the Gospel and have a positive experience encountering the God of creation.  If you cannot make the 4:00 service, please enter the building respectful of the worship service in progress.  I will look forward to introducing you to some of these special guests at our meal.
